HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE LAUNCHED

The space shuttle crew launched the $2.1 billion Hubble Space
Telescope last Wednesday, after a stubborn solar panel refused to
unfurl.
"The first of NASA's Great Observatories is now on station at 381
miles above the Earth," said a NASA spokesman, David Drachlis. One of
the telescope's two salar panels unrolled easily (like a giant
windowshade) but the other panel was stuck for over five hours.
The telescope is called "astronomy's most important stride since
Galileo's first telescope." After 20 years of planning and seven years
of delays, it is finally off the ground.

ADVANTAGEOUS SMIRK

lurch fumbled with the car keys. "WHERE ARE MY @#S%^&!
KEYS!?!?!?" he shouted at his granddaughter. "In your hand, Sir," she
said meekly, mildly, authoritatively, frowning, smiling all at the same
time.
lurch's grandmother came out of the house. "BE QUIET lurch.  We
ain't gonna use no profaniteee round this piece.  Give the car keys to
your granddaughter. You aren't responsible enough, lurch. "
