Review by G. W. Jackson:
This book was given to me as a gift years ago. I have read through it several times and dreamed of doing the things the book depicts. It paints a vivid picture of the things boys were doing over a hundred years ago now. The author keeps us going with his anecdotes and descriptive plans for everything from fighting frog kites to tiny hot air balloons to a pig sculpted from snow. In a world that is so fast paced and high tech, this offers a glimpse into the way of life of the average country boy who didn't have a care in the world. Read the book!

Review by Ada Kerman:
Instructions for making a number of things, such as kites, fishing poles, and costumes; how to raise a dog, stuff animals, go camping, and so on.
